These are a few of the books which influenced my life.
Lots of them have become timely classics since I read them for the first time. The first title is in English, the second in German.

Gustav Meyrink
Meyrink is a writer who uses lots of metaphysical symbols, creates a magical atmosphere and all his novels have lots of levels of understanding. This is a complicated magical book about eternal love and enlightement.

Narcissus and Goldmund / Narciss und Goldmund
Hermann Hesse
All the books by H. Hesse are gems, dealing with transcendence, metaphysics and the search for the real meaning of life.
This book is about the conflict between flesh and spirit, individual spiritual paths of two different men, friends in a monastery. The story is set in medieval Europe. Narcissus lives a quiet life, seeks God and enlightenment. Goldmund can´t resist worldly beauty.

Manfred Kyber
Beautiful story based on the Grail tradition. This little girl is very different from ordinary people, can speak to animals, sees fairies and ghosts. Extraordinary book with strong spiritual message.

Timeless masterpiece, alchemical work, extensive novel covering many incarnations of a few persons, explaining karmic law and various esoteric issues.

The author translated the old story into simple, yet powerful language.

This book has influenced me profoundly. Dethlefsen offers basic, yet serious information about metaphysics, astrology, homeopathy and others.
