EMPEROR SYMBOLISM 3 and 4 - Watch the SLIDE SHOW THE ONE TWO THREE OF THINGS

There is nothing to memorize, nothing to remember. Please return and read the rest of this page.

Our Alchemy and You class continues this week, Week Four, The Emperor, with this image which is a very important one. This image is from the alchemical site we visited last week. I will describe the symbols.

The Rebis

THE SYMBOLS
  • the sun and the moon

  • 5 stars (which represent the 5 known planets besides the sun and moon)

  • the tools in his hand (protractor and squaring tool) - what does this remind you of, Newton, yes!!, God on the Sistine Chapel ceiling, yes!!
  • the hermophrodite - this represents the way you are when you first begin studying alchemy - your inner male and female are joined in some kind of wierd dance where the left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing. REBIS is written on the shirt. This means the same as hermaphrodite.
  • and it also represents Mercury, the twins

  • the dragon (we now know what that means, or you will by the time you finish the materials this week)

  • the red world egg with wings

  • the blue world egg
The world egg is like the uroboros or the female egg. It is just the beginning of things like The Fool is the beginning of things. It is not necessary to know which came first, the male or female polarity. They have existed as polarities since the beginning of time.

THE NUMBERS 3 AND 4

The symbols with which we are concerned this week are the numeric glyphs 3 and 4 which appear on the red world egg with the wings. Carl Jung spent, I believe, several years of his life contemplating the number 3 1/2, which is halfway between 3 and 4.

The Space between 3 and 4

We are in that space right now, between The Empress, Card #3 and The Emperor, Card #4 . Isn't it exciting?? Anything that happens this week is especially significant.

Carl Jung had spectacular dreams, being an introverted intuitive. In a dream relatively late in life, he kept going down into his house and finding a room with a desk and an ancient book on it which was entirely numinous and which he read with great interest.

CAROL JUNG, DREAMS AND ALCHEMY

One day in Real Time, he ordered a book in some relatively unexplored ancient field called alchemy and when it arrived, it had the same cover as the book in the dream. So he knew there were great riches in store. Anyway, the number 3 1/2 is mystically known as the number of coming into being. 3 is pregnant and 4 is the whole world. In every culture throughout the ages, 4 stands for manifest reality. So now, my little online apprentice-lings, I would like you to contemplate the distance between 3 and 4 and Journal if you have any revelations. As for me, I have contemplated this enough that by now all I have to do is think about the distance between 3 and 4 and I feel potentialized.

LIKE THE VESICA PISCIS

The energy of 3 1/2 may be compared to the Vesica Piscis which you will find at this page, (part of The 1, 2 3 of Things Slide Show) in that they have the simliar dynamic potential. If you had upheaval or disruption of your process this week, it may also help to have the insight that comes from a personal reading and I'm available for that. Please contact me for an appointment -- email me -- if you wish some insight regarding your creative process. I want you to be successful in bringing wonderful new things into your life.
